2022

  • Accreditation Achieved:
    • ESL gained recognition as a certified testing and certification body by UAE authorities.
    • Accredited by IAS, EIAC, GAC, and ENAS for 90+ testing and 600+ certification standards.
  • Commercial Operations Start:
    • General Manager David Campbell appointed to lead ESL’s business strategy and client relations.
    • Launch of Customer Support Office at Al Twar, Dubai Civil Defence for client engagement.
  • Expanded Services:
    • Support for CE and UKCA marking for European market access.
    • Initiated furnace calibration per EN 1363-1 (unique in the region).
    • Extended coverage in Passive Fire Testing (facades, fire doors, cables, etc.) and Active Systems (alarms, lighting, suppression systems).

  • Testing & Commissioning: Equipment calibration, testing capability validation, and initial trial certifications.

2018 – 2019

  • Design & Construction Phase: Development of facility infrastructure, test labs, and certification frameworks.
  • Team Building: International specialists like Dr. Sebastian Ukleja (Testing), Dr. Andrzej Borowy (Technical & Quality), and Eng. Tomasz Kielbasa (Certification) joined for technical execution.

2017

  • Project Initiation: Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) launched the plan to develop a government-controlled fire testing and certification facility — ESL.
  • Leadership: Directed by Lt. General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi (previously Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi at the time)
  • Project Development: Led by Major General Expert Ali Al Mutawa (previously ranked as Brigadier Expert Ali Al Mutawa at the time) involving international TIC experts from concept to planning.
